Jane Austen’s Society

Synopsis
Jane Austen lived in a dramatically exciting period of English history. Although her six novels are concerned with the manners of courtship, marriage and money than the social change and political intrigue of the time, there is a background steeped in Regency atmosphere. This video explores the society which Jane Austen was very happy to be a part of, looking beyond her novels to her sharp, witty correspondence with her sister Cassandra, giving us Jane’s personal impression of life at the turn of the 18th and 19th century.
