Sections

Title
Head & neck
Synopsis
Detailed 3D modelling of the head and neck including a disarticulated skull, showing the regions and attachment points for all the muscles. The 3D model also incorporates the entire cervical region and the upper thoracic spine. The model is supplemented by text, MRI section and clinical slides.

Anatomy Section includes:
Cross sections of the bones that show the internal sinuses of the bones such as the frontal sinus in the frontal bone.
Various views which allow the user to see all the structures of the skull e.g. infratemporal view.
Views in the cranial cavity that show the brain surface anatomy of the brain (not neuroanatomy)
Coverage of Craniofacial muscles including Epicranius, Orbicularis oris and Culi muscles, Masticatory muscles including Masseter and Buccinator muscles and infratemporal muscles including the Pterygoid muscles
Basic eye and the surrounding muscles eg rectus muscles (An Interactive Eye disc is planned for next year)
Outer structures of the ear
Basic structures of the nose
Neurovascular supply to the head and neck including facial nerves to the nasociliary nerves.
Anatomy of the glands is covered (parotid, lacrimal and the thyroid)
The lymph system with a separate layer covering the arteries, nerves and veins.
There are extra special views of the gums and teeth, and special views on the interior of the mouth. The tongue and muscles of the tongue such as the hyoglossus and styloglossus are covered.
All the muscles around the hyoid bone such as the geniohyoid and the mylohyoid muscles which as in the neck are also indicated
All structures in the neck are shown such as the pharynx and larynx

Title
Spine
Synopsis
Anatomy section includes:
Detailed model of the entire vertebral column and spinal cord - cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral regions
View of the deep muscles of the back, which are not normally displayed or covered in conventional textbooks
Allows you to follow the entire route of a nerve as it emerges from the spinal cord as rootlets to its destination muscle and peel away the complicated layers of Erector Spinae
Clinical/Radiology section provides:
Over 200 clinical slides (MRI, X-Ray, CT & Photographs); Simple fracture classification; Screw fixation animations that complement the clinical text
Also included are:
Range of motion animations
Fully labelled axial CT of the spine
Fully labelled colour axial images from the Female Visible Human Project

Title
Shoulder (and elbow)
Synopsis
This programme on shoulder surgery and anatomy is suitable for use in teaching, training, and patient education.
The radiology mode correlates the 3-D model to source MR images. Text written by David W. Stoller links to a range of pathology material. Surgical and clinical relevance of all structures is covered through text, still imagery, and surgical or clinical videos. In collaboration with Johns Hopkins University there are a series of bio-mechanical animations showing the relative bone positions during a number of typical joint motions.

Title
Hand (and wrist)
Synopsis
Following on from the first version of INTERACTIVE HAND, this CD-ROM now includes a section focusing on the wrist. Detail beyond the resolution of present imaging techniques has been modelled by hand and the entire description verified by fresh dissection. Dynamic video recordings are included to illustrate muscle action and new text and slides highlight key pathology of anatomical structures. The RADIOLOGY SECTION, edited by David W. Stoller, MD, provides a method of viewing the 3D model of the wrist in 3 planes and correlating the anatomy with the equivalent MR data.
This CD-ROM is suitable for teaching, presentations, reference and patient education and provides the facility to export imagery into your own programs for personal or teaching purposes.

Title
Foot and ankle
Synopsis
Presents an accurate 3D anatomical model of the foot and ankle. Built from a full MR data set of a cadaveric distal lower limb, this model forms the core resource of the CD-ROM. Accompanying anatomy and radiology texts link to a wide variety of normal and pathological images. The radiology section, edited by David W. Stoller, MD, provides a method of correlating the ankle joint in 3D with the equivalent MR data displayed in all three planes.
For surgeons, anatomists, podiatrists, athletic trainers, OTs and PTs, this electronic resource on the lower extremity is a tool for teaching, presentations, reference and patient education. .

Title
Knee
Synopsis
An accurate 3D anatomical model of the knee. The CD-ROM goes beyond any traditional textbook. Rebuilt from MRI source data, the 3D model is complete, showing 18 layers of anatomy from skin to bone. Users can rotate the 3D model of the knee on the computer screen, and label any visible feature. A broad selection of anatomical, biomechanical, and pathological material accompanies the 3D presentation. The MRI section provides a method of viewing the 3D model of the knee in 3 planes and correlating the anatomy with the equivalent MRI data. The model is linked to radiology text written by David W. Stoller, MD.

This CD-ROM is a tool for teaching, presentations, reference, and patient education.

Title
Hip
Synopsis
A complete guide to the anatomy, pathology, and radiology of the hip. Clinical sections cover all common pathologies and procedures, including total hip replacement and revision. A full set of topics provides textbook-like coverage of all the areas of interest. The Radiology Section correlates the joint itself to a complete set of MR data in all three planes. Text by David W Stoller covers all the major radiological themes related to the hip, including a range of pathological images in all modalities. The product has a variety of applications:-
mprove Patient Education and Compliance; Enhance lectures; Review anatomy and radiology in an entirely new format; Use for day-to-day reference.

Notes
Primal Pictures has created the only complete and medically accurate 3D anatomical model of the human body. It is derived from genuine medical scan data that has been interpreted by a team of anatomists and then translated into three-dimensional images by a team of graphics specialists. Models can be rotated and layers of anatomy added or removed. The anatomy visuals are accompanied by three-dimensional animations that demonstrate function, biomechanics and surgical procedures. To supplement the core three-dimensional anatomy data are clinical videos and text written by leading medical specialists. Resources are grouped in the areas of acupuncture, anatomy & physiology, dentistry, detailed human anatomy, functional anatomy, head & neck, pelvic floor, pilates, radiology, real time anatomy, speech language pathology, spine, sports & therapy, surgery, urology. of software is unique because of its accuracy and detail. The resources are available online to subscribers via Athens/Shibboleth login at www.anatomy.tv/ or for sale on DVD-ROM.
