Synopsis
This 1947 film reviews work of the Royal Engineers from port to front line with many examples from World War II featuring British and Commonwealth engineers. Units shown include post and airport construction, pipe laying, base workshops and stores, road and railway construction, bridge building, demolition of dangerous structures and of strategic structures when in retreat, quarrying and mining squads, mine laying and clearance. A wide variety of vehicles are featured including Buffaloes, Churchill tanks, jeeps, dozers, tippers and heavy plant.
