Learning Plan Interview, The

Synopsis

The package consists of two videos and a user’s guide. The first video is a dramatisation showing managers how to help people put together a realistic and achievable learning plan. Highlights the importance of using an understanding of the learner’s preferred learning style to ensure that the most appropriate learning experiences are selected. Managers often encounter awkwardness or difficulties when sitting down with a junior colleague to discuss their development plans. This problem is addressed and the video shows how a clear series of steps helps to keep the interview positive and focused.

The second video contains trigger sequences to facilitate exploration of subjects such as the learning cycle, learning styles and tailoring learning experiences in greater detail. The user’s guide has a self-study section, ready-made workshop sessions and background information to help plan training.
