Parliament Uncovered

Synopsis
An official video guide to the work and role of Parliament going behind the scenes of the British political system explaining and questioning its practices. Divided into six 10-minute sections covering how the democratic process actually works, how a bill becomes law, and considers the distinct roles of both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. It also questions the validity and purpose of some of the traditional procedures that define our parliamentary system and asks whether they’re still relevant in the modern world. Includes interviews with people such as general election candidates, backbench MPs, ministers, Committee members, Whips, Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, Mr Speaker and the Leader of the House of Lords.
