Synopsis
Recording of a lecture given by Professor John Kent as part of the London Mathematical Society’s Popular Lecture Series. Shape is a key aspect of geometric objects. Two objects are said to have the same shape if they are identical except for changes in location, rotation and orientation. Describes how to compare shapes, average shape, and deform one shape into another. Applications are given from biology, medicine and computer vision.
