Horsey Mail, The
- Synopsis
- When the sea wall at Winterton in East Norfolk gives way and Horsey village and many outlying farms become islands in the water, it is more difficult for postman Claude Simmonds to make his daily round. Van driver Bob O’Brien is sent out to give him a lift but there still comes the point where the Post Office has to take to the boats. Until 15 square miles of flooded land are drained and the road appears again, Claude will be rowing six miles every day to deliver the Horsey mail. An early film by the director who was later to make the wartime feature documentary about the battle of the Atlantic, WESTERN APPROACHES.
