Heritage of the Forest
- Synopsis
- Gives a brief account of the vast forests which once covered Britain, describing the various types of woodland that evolved and how man has managed them over the centuries. Shows the wealth of flora and fauna that depends on these habitats. In the last thirty years more woodland has been destroyed by man than in the previous four hundred years. Stresses the importance of protecting the relatively small areas of native woodland that remain.
