Synopsis

Shows how local councils have applied legislation involving listed buildings, helping to preserve and maintain much of our cultural and architectural heritage. Examples show how Chichester, Leeds, Birmingham and Chesterfield, are keeping a balance between old and new buildings. Also shows Hampton Court Palace, which was restored after fire damage in 1986.
