From the Ashes

Synopsis
Story of Carol Rigby, who in 1978 set fire to a wastebin while working as a nurse at the National Theatre, London. Convicted of arson and sent to Broadmoor, she examines what drove her to the point of lighting a fire and concludes that an astonishing number of arsons are signals of distress. She claims that her treatment in Broadmoor was minimal, and the programme asks why emotionally distressed people so often end up in prison.
