Foxtrot from ‘FaÇade’

Synopsis
A fully costumed performance of ‘Foxtrot’ from ‘Façade’, choreographed by Frederick Ashton to music by William Walton, danced by four students from the Royal Ballet School and recorded at the Margot Fonteyn Theatre at the Royal Ballet School. The dance is a humorous and ironic look at the social and traditional dances of the 1920s and includes aspects of popular social dance such as the charleston. Also inclues rehearsal extracts, and interview extracts with Leslie Edwards, former ex-principal of the Royal Ballet who first danced in ‘Façade’ in 1937.
