Flight to Mars

Synopsis
Follows the development of the ‘Beagle 2’ Mars lander for the 2003 European Space Agency mission to Mars. It was designed by British scientist Colin Pillinger to search for criteria to determine whether life has been or was possible and will utilise a sub-surface ‘mole’, cameras, microscopes, X-ray spectrometers and other equipment. Contributors to the mission include artist Damien Hirst and pop group Blur.
