Synopsis

1: Examines family ties and features four different families, from Norfolk, Wales, Leicester and Ely. Looks at their finances (including paying their mortgages, taxes and other bills), shopping patterns, transportation and the roles of family members.
2: Examines education, childcare, leisure and religious activities with the same four families. Shows how they maintain continuity in the local community in the face of constant change.
