Synopsis

A record of the 2nd Netherlands Chimpanzee Expedition to the Congo, now ZaÔre. Part 1 (23 min) shows preparations for observation; morning descent from the dormitory hill; return to hill. Shows experiments with foods, coloured objects, burning kerosene lamp, nest with eggs, a hen chick, a half-grown monkey, a small chimp doll, life-size pictures, a goat kid, a poisonous snake. Part 2 (23 min) shows a leopard experiment: preparations and three trials.
