Compilation of newsreels of the pre-1918 period with added commentary. Most sequences highlight special events - weddings, funerals, processions, state visits, and monarchy is very much to the fore. Social and nationality problems tend to be underplayed in the pictures though these are stressed in the (English) commentary.
