Synopsis

The way children in Britain are taught has changed enormously over the years. Schools are allowed to choose to have more control over their own affairs, parents can choose which school they want their children to attend, and although by law all children must be taught English, mathematics and science, they can choose the additional subjects they study. In this programme, parents, head teachers, governors and pupils discuss the way future education in Britain is developing and the choices available.
