- Covers the hundred years of news since the first edition of the Kettering ‘Evening Telegraph’ was published on 3 October 1897. Looks at events of this period - the death of Queen Victoria, the first Kettering picture house to open, two world wars, royal visits to the area, the rise and fall of local industries such as the shoe factories and Corby steel works, political events, the local weather, etc. Compiled from the newspaper’s photographic library, private archive film and reference footage. Captures the many changes that have occurred during the century and the impact on Kettering and its local area.
