Dry Stone Walling

Synopsis
Scenes illustrate the different types of stone wall and the various features that can be incorporated into its construction. The history and skills involved in the ancient craft of dry-stone walling are explained in training courses. Follows a stone-walling competition from start to finish. Interviews with two brothers, each a master craftsman, and the Duchess of Devonshire, who hosts the annual competition. Filmed in October 1992.
