Synopsis
A lyrical drama about a black woman who was born in the Caribbean and emigrated to England. She has just died and her children are gathered around her. As they argue about their lives and discuss their mother’s lot the audience hears and sees the dead woman’s viewpoint as her soul lives on in the room. Explores the black woman’s expectations and disappointments, and her children’s perceptions of her. Moves through memories, emotions, pain and associations, and offers a personal insight into family life.
