An illustrated interview with a mother whose middle child has Down’s syndrome. The mother relates her experiences, from a doctor breaking the news to her, health visitors, hospital care, support groups, education, and whatlife is like caring for a mentally handicapped child.Part of a course for first year medical students to help them appreciate patients as people with independence outside of hospitals and medical care.
