Dissection of a Mosquito for Malaria Parasites, The

Synopsis
The phases of the life cycle of the malaria parasite within the mosquito are briefly described and the appearance of both oocysts and sporozoites are shown. Demonstrates 1) how the salivary glands of the insect are pressed out and prepared for examination so that sporozoites can be identified and 2) how the stomach is removed and the oocysts detected.
