Synopsis
Shows a knitwear manufacturer that has been based in Godalming, Surrey, since 1907, producing fully fashioned knitwear from natural fibres. This recording was made in July 1990 as the firm me due to move its manufacturing from the factory built in 1965 to Ammanford South Wales. A tour around the works shows Japanese computer-controlled knitting machines side by side with British punched tape-controlled mechanisms, viewing all the knitwear manufacturing processes.
