Cytology of Reproduction

Synopsis
The organisation of tissues in the reproductive system of a number of mammals, including humans, is demonstrated from histological specimens, cytological smears and living cells ‘in vitro’. Pays particular attention to the functional organisation of ovaries and testes and graphically illustrates the processes of oogenesis and spermatogenesis. The stages of the oestrous and menstrual cycles are indicated by epithelial cell changes and the structures of the female and male genital tracts are compared.
