Cryopreserving Cultured Cells
- Synopsis
- An important part of cell culture is the ability to cryopreserve or freeze cells as a method of storing them. Shows in an actual experiment the method and principles of cryopreserving cells using DMSO with minimal loss of viability. The investigator uses glass vials or ampoules to effectively store frozen cells in liquid nitrogen and compares their use with plastic vials.
