Coronary Circulation

Synopsis
An interactive tutorial aiming to provide: an understanding of the anatomy and physiological control of the coronary circulation; some appreciation of the aetiology, development and most common clinical consequences of atherosclerotic damage in the coronary circulation; an understanding of the mechanisms of action and side-effects of the main pharmacological treatments for ischaemic heart disease. In six modules: 1) Anatomy and physiology of the coronary circulation; 2) Ischaemic heart disease; 3) Strategy for management of angina; 4) Beta-blockers in the treatment of angina; 5) Organic nitrates in the treatment of angina; 6) Calcium channel blockers in the treatment of angina. Approximately 15-30 minutes of teaching material.
