Synopsis

Television series in which Michael Wood relates the history of the Spanish conquest of the New World in the 16th century. In four parts: 1) The Fall of The Aztecs: retraces Cortes’ journey across Mexico and the fateful meeting with the Aztec leader Montezuma; 2) The Conquest of the Incas: recalls the Pizarro brothers’ expedition to overthrow the Inca empire; 3) The Search for El Dorado: the route of the conquistadors’ ill-fated quest for the mythical land of gold; 4) All the World Is Human: the expedition of Cabeza de Vaca and three other surviving conquistadors to Florida, where they lived for five years.
