Synopsis

Traces briefly the history of the development of artists’ paints, and the ‘colourmen’ who manufacture them. The role of Windsor & Newton within this tradition is explained, particularly their part in helping to popularise amateur art and the creation of acrylics. Shows the modern processes now used in the manufacture of paints and brushes.
