Cobalt Deficiency in Ruminants

Synopsis
Describes the incidence of, and the clinical signs associated with, cobalt deficiency in cattle and sheep in the UK. The signs, ranging from severe to inapparent, are illustrated by colour slides. Diagnostic aids are described along with the difficulties of interpreting the results obtained. The programme also includes sections: soil and pasture contents of cobalt, requirements for cobalt, regions where deficiency occurs, prevention and control, comparative costs of different ways of preventing cobalt deficiency, clinical problems for the listener to solve (with answers).
