Brett Easton Ellis
- Synopsis
- in the early 1980s Brett Easton Ellis published ‘Less than Zero’, a sharp, violent portrayal of life among the young movie-trash of Los Angeles. His work has been criticised for its violence, perceived misogyny and absence of values, but in this conversation with Mark Lawson he counters these criticisms with an argument for irony and satire, for the essential humour that underpins his writing, and helps support the contention that he is one of America’s most important young writers.
