Vanya on 42nd Street

Synopsis
A version of Chekov’s ‘Uncle Vanya’. Film director Louis Malle films stage director André Gregory rehearsing a production of the play. The shabby grandeur of the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York, once the scene of the Ziegfield Follies, is an ideal setting for Chekov’s study of a Russian family in decline.
