A general introduction to the people of the Trobriand Islands. Also covers gardening and associated magic, mortuary rites, Kula preparations, and the harvest season. Made mainly in the region of Omarakana during H A Powell’s field research in New Guinea. Commentary concentrates on the ethnography of Trobriand life.
