Trobriand Cricket: An Ingenious Response to Colonialism

Synopsis
An ethnographic film about cricket as played in the Trobriand Islands of Papua New Guinea. In the first half the people explain how to play the game and tell why they changed it over the last 70 years. The second half is built around preparations for a game, the game itself, and exchanges which underly the politics of the event. *RAI
