Trinidad Valencera, La

Synopsis
The ‘Trinidad Valencera’, fourth largest ship of the Spanish Armada, sank off the Donegal coast in 1588. Nothing more was heard of her until 1971 when divers of the Derry Sub-Aqua Club discovered two ornamental bronze cannons. Further archaeological work underwater revealed the remains of a mighty army and siege train.
