Treatment of Sex Disorders, The (3 Parts)

Synopsis
Part 1 outlines the kinds of problems that are likely to be met in the general population, and discusses the biology, anatomy and physiology of sex. The last part of the film presents a visual demonstration of a modified Masters and Johnson approach to the desensitization of sex anxiety. The ‘sensate’ focus illustrated is accompanied by a commentary which emphasises the most important aspects of such a treatment programme.
Part 2 deals with two main sex disorders of the male. Identifies the various types of impotence and then outlines various ways in which these can be dealt with. Uses the same explicityly visual approach to describe the treatment of premature ejaculation. Describes the squeeze technique and the stop-start method.
Part 3 discusses courtship, normal sex-play and intercourse, then identifies and describes the main sexual problems that women experience. These are heterophobia (a fear of men), problems with lubrication, vaginismus, a general inability to become aroused sexually and more specifically a lack of orgasm. Discusses treatment methods currently available to help women who are distressed by these problems.
