Synopsis

A compilation of thirty programmes from ‘Topical Budget’ (1911-1931), one of the major Brigish newsreels of the silent era. It illustrates early newsreel form and gives an entertaining portrait of the times. Included is rare footage of Lawrence of Arabia, the FA Cup Final of 1921, Charlie Chaplin’s visit to England, the wedding of the future King George VI.
