- An account of the Australian Northern Land Council’s inaugural meeting in January 1977. At the same time the council met traditional owners of the Alligator Rivers region in the Northern Territory to discuss their submission to the Ranger Uranium Inquiry. These events marked a turning point in the recognition of Aboriginal rights to traditional land.
