Through the Maze of Child Abuse

Synopsis
Adds the voices and views of mothers of abused children to the child abuse debate. Tells the story of a group of North East women who began to meet together in the aftermath of the Cleveland events in 1986-7 because of their concerns for the safety of their children, primarily because of sexual abuse. They describe how they developed the confidence and knowledge to offer other parents like themselves a support service. Illustrates how parents and local community members can work alongside the skills of professional workers in the interests of the children and their parents.
