Those Who Can’t Teach: An Introduction to Pupil Tutoring

Subtitle
Introduction to pupil tutoring, An
Synopsis
A major factor in the development of learning difficulties and subsequent disaffection from school is the self-esteem of the pupil. Tutoring younger pupils provides an opportunity for disaffected adolescents to participate in an activity which gives them a sense of self-worth and allows them to contribute to others. Using recordings of the activities involved in pupil tutoring at Trinity School, Leamington Spa, and interviews with the meadmaster and with Jean Bond, the researcher, demonstrates the benefits of pupil tutoring and gives clear guidelines on the implementation of such a scheme.
