Visits THORP, the thermal oxide reprocessing plant at Sellafield. Shows receipt and storage operations; a small-scale demonstration of the chemistry of reprocessing with the separation of uranium, plutonium and fission products; the recycling of materials with plutonium refabricated for use as MOX fuel; and the fission products stored in glass following a vitrification process.
