ThÉatre des VariÉtÉs

Synopsis
Built in 1806 on the Boulevards, the Théatre des Variétés is the oldest theatre in Paris to have survived demolition and fire. The history of the Variétés illustrtes the turbulent situation of theatre in Paris under the Revolution and shows how new forms of theatre emerged when the right to perform was democratised.
