- Examines the Turksih experience of Islam, particularly the tolerant reaction to a series of articles in the Turkish magazine ‘Towards 2000’. The magazine took chronicles from the 7th century to expose ‘the sex life of Mohammed’, but there was little outcry and no mass protest, illustrating the Turkish experience as a secular society able to tolerate a broad range of opinion and belief. The programme also asks whether a fundamentalist government will ever come to power in Turkey.
