Synopsis

Video components of a distance-learning package for dental nurses.
1 (1992): Designed to help dental nurses with the instrument spotter section of their qualifying examination, the programme 1) explains the format of the examination and shows candidates what they will be expected to do and 2) asks the viewer to identify a wide selection of commonly used equipment.
2 (1993): Illustrates the procedure of intravenous sedation, concentrating on the role of the dental nurse throughout. It avoids confusion by omitting details relating to the actual sedation, which must always be administered by a qualified dental practitioner.
