- Synopsis
- An interactive pactions for teaching the actions of suxamethonium as a neuromuscular blocking agent by: comparison with competitive reversible neuromuscular blockers; explaining normal physiology of the neuromuscular junction, particularly the action of ligand- and voltage-gated sodium channels; explaining how suxamethonium induces neuromuscular block by its agonist action; showing the clinical applications of suxamethonium in the context of the advantages and disadvantages of other neuromuscular blockers. Includes a self-assessment true/false test. Approximately half an hour of teaching material.
