Sigmund Freud’s ‘Dora’
- Synopsis
- Female lips in close-up recount a conversation concerning psychoanalysis as we see a series of dates and events providing a chronology of the years 1882-1905, from the birth of ‘Dora’ to the publication of Freud’s case history of her. Four dialogues follow, each preceded by a refilmed TV advertisement and an extract from a pornographic film.
Freud’s ‘Dora’ is used as text to discuss the representation of female sexuality in psychoanalytic theory. - Language
