Ben Nicholson
- Synopsis
- After Ben Nicholson’s discovery of pure abstraction in the 1920s, leading to his famous white reliefs,he re-introduced figurative elements into his paintings throughout his life. A recurring motif was a collection of beautifully shaped vases, goblets and jugs which he inherited from his father, the painter Sir William Nicholson. There are observations and reminiscences from Patrick Heron, Dr Felicitas Vogler, Sir Leslie Martin, Andras Kalman and Angela Verren.
