Secret Reeds, The

Synopsis
Deals with the ecology and management of reed bed areas, explaining how reed beds are very short-lived, always giving way to scrub and then woodland. RSPB reserves include major reed bed areas which support nearly half of the country’s bitterns and a third of its bearded tits. Shows many of the birds, insects and flowers which depend on this delicately balanced environment.
