Synopsis
A survey of modern techniques and equipment used by geologists to visualise underground geological formations in order to help locate reserves of oil and gas. Shows seismic and magnetic surveys in operation in three contrasting terrains - jungle, (Thailand), desert (Oman), and city (The Hague). Shows methods of recording undersea features. Shows how computer programs are used to analyse the data while computer graphics help visualise the geological formations.*
