Screening for Idiopathic Scoliosis

Synopsis
Demonstrates the technique of first-level screening by a school nurse. One child fails the screening test and is referred to the community paediatrician who confirms the diagnosis and refers to the consultant orthopaedic surgeon. The surgeon demonstrates the features of early scoliosis and explains that the patient will be monitored in case of a need for treatment. He then demonstrates a much more severe case with an obvious spinal deformity requiring obvious surgical treatment.
