Synopsis
Feature film. Presents a selectively constructed but positive view of British colonial administration in Africa and of the nature and capabilities of the African. The tone and theme of the film are set by the prologue: ‘Sailors, soldiers and merchant adventurers were the pioneers who laid the foundation of the British Empire. Today their work is carried on by the civil servants - the keepers of the King’s peace’. Screenplay based on stories by Edgar Wallace.
