Robert Rauschenberg: Man at Work

Synopsis
Explores the life and work of Robert Rauschenberg at the time of a major retrospective of his work at the Guggenheim Museum, New York, in 1997. His huge autobiographical work, ‘The 1/4 Mile or 2 Furlong Piece’, provides a focal point for the film. Rauschenberg looks back over his career with candour and humour, and explains the evolution of several of his most famous works. Includes archive footage and contributions from Calvin Tomkins, Barbara Rose, Ileana Sonnabend, Leo Castelli, Merce Cunningham and Rachel Rosenthal.
